Indeed! Not to mention the warm-up events to the Australian Open. I wonder who will emerge this year for the WTA? Will Vaidisova, Jankovic, Ivanovic–to name a few among a cast of young up-and-comers win a Grand Slam Event? Are the Williams sisters gone from the upper echelon? It will be very interesting to see what happens.

Hi, Liney!! Thanks for reading along, it will definitely be an interesting year and I look forward to arguing Sharapova’s merits against anyone you’ve got. As for your first three offerings, I say, nyet, nyet, and nyet.

  3. Liney says:

Yeah–Sharapova is very tough. She seems unbeatable when she is on but–I just don’t like her attitude or demeanor. I miss the Williams sisters. I would love to see Jelena win a major. She has a great demeanor/countenance. Stranger things have happened. Maybe Dementieva will finally break through. We shall see…
