Though Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis race to see who can finish the match first, neither is as fast as Maria Sharapova. Her first round match dragged on for three grueling hours in extreme heat, but yesterday Sharapova spent only 58 minutes to wallop fellow Russian Anastassia Rodionova 6-0, 6-3. “My brain cells were restored today so I could pick it up a bit,” Maria assured reporters. “I wanted to make sure I finished it in two this time.”
Women’s third round highlights: Maria Sharapova vs. Tathiana Garbin, Amelie Maursemo vs. Eva Birnerova, Svetlana Kuznetsova vs. Maria Kirilenko, Kim Clijsters vs. Alona Bondarenko, Nadia Petrova vs. Serena Williams, and Martina Hingis vs. Aiko Nakamura.

thanks for the updates about the Aussie Open. I can’t watch it but I check here to see what’s going on. Keep up the good work!
One of the reasons I root against Maria in every match is because I am so Weary of being forced to look at Yuri’s asthetically displeasing, intense, harsh looking visage. I don’t have anything against him as a person, he’s doing a great job as a Dad to hear Maria gush about him. Still and all I can’t stand the look of him. His face impresses me with everything that is cold, brutal and unfeeling about man.
